"Traditionally, the pinky swear is considered binding and tantamount to a handshake in terms of sealing a deal. The pinky swear originally indicated that the person who breaks the promise must cut off their pinky finger... {not in our house, thankfully} It is most common among school-age children and close friends. The pinky swear signifies a promise that cannot be broken or counteracted by the crossing of fingers, the "I take it back" or any other trickery." (thank you Wikipedia)
watch out - if you pinky 'square' with Lyssa ... she will hold you to it! ie: remind you over and over and over and over and over until you want to cut your OWN pinky off! "mom, you remember we pinky squared." "you pinky squared i could XZY." "mom, pinky square that i don't have to eat hotdogs anymore." BAH - those kids at school, teaching my kids these ridiculous games that i keep getting sucked into!!

Good job Lyssa! Hold your mom to it, if she squares on it then it is the real deal. It the rules.
LOL so cute!
I love it...the pinky square...I am often reminded of the silly things we did as kids that my kids come home talking about! :) LOL
SO I am slow but I just read a few of the posts I have missed...you are awesome...I have one for your list...you are a TERRIFIC friend...it take ALOT of time and patience to keep track of some of us who get a little busy sometimes! ;) so...you add that to your list! AND if it makes you feel any better you are soooo not alone...as I read your list I thought that list could be mine! :)
You tell her Lyssa!
She's got you on that one. The American pinky swear is like the Arabic's promise. No backing out - except they cut off your hands and stuff if you mess up.
Hannah makes us pinky swear all the time since she watched the Princess Diaries. Very Funny
